| How to Navigate |
Every lesson starts with a full-screen window that contains an overview of the information to be covered in the lesson. In the lower-right corner of the window, you will see a control bar that looks like this:
The gauge tells you the total number of steps in the lesson (37 in this example), the step you are on (4), and the number of audio steps that have been received by your computer (25). |
This is the "Back" button. It is used to move backwards in the lesson. |
This is the "Next" button. It is used to advance in the lesson. |
The "Options" button is used to display additional options, such as switching between Preview and Performance modes, switching the audio on and off, restarting the lesson, or getting help. |
The "Quit" button is used to exit the lesson prior to completion. |

| Beyond the initial full-screen |
When you advance beyond the first screen, a text window will appear in the lower-right corner of the screen.

As you move through the lesson, the information contained in the text window will change. When you see a small green triangle to the left of a line of text, you are being asked to perform a task. When you perform the task, the lesson will automatically advance. If you are running the lesson in Performance Mode (see below), you are expected to perform the task before continuing. If you are running the lesson in Preview Mode, you can click on the "Next" button to have the task performed for you.

| Performance and Preview Modes |
When you launch a lesson, a dialog box is displayed enabling you to choose between Performance and Preview modes. You can also use the Options menu at any point in the lesson to switch between the two modes.
When working in Performance mode, you must perform the tasks that are presented to you. Tasks are indicated by a small green triangle in the text window.
When working in Preview mode, you have the option of either performing the tasks that are presented to you or letting the system perform the tasks for you. When you choose to not perform a task, simply click on the "Next" button and the task will be performed for you.
